Introduction

Has a Ph.d in Economics, besides Masters in Physics, Electronics, Masters in History & MS in Finance from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow,UK. 

He has been in the IAS and he served the Government, for decades, in a wide range of responsibilities as District Magistrates of Districts of Visakhapatnam and Mahabubnagar, dealing extensively with education from school to higher educational levels. He has spurred development in the areas of Irrigation, Industry, Entrepreneurship,Training in Management in his capacities as Secretary/Commissioner, Government of Andhra Pradesh. He has headed Corporations as Managing Directors, dealing sugar industry, irrigation industry and small scale industries. He has been associated with World Bank in its projects, related to technical education, water supply, urban development in formation and implementation of World Bank projects. He has worked as Director of Technical Education during the period when education sector was privatized.

Dr.Bhattacharya was associated with the phase of economic reforms and in its implementation in some departments including education and industries, specializes in the academic areas of Micro & Macro Economics, International Economics, Comparative Economic System, Global Economy and Economic crisis, National & International Banking, Finance, Money & Capital, Role of Central banks, Security Analysis & Portfolio Management. He has published more than 30 articles in national & international journals. He has presented papers in the areas of Economics, Finance & International Business in International Conferences. He has had academic interfaces with IIMs, ASCI and various universities both Indian & Foreign.

His Work varied around research, training, teaching & management in the Government, in a span of decades. He believe in multi-dimensional learning, his interest in promoting entrepreneurship among members of non-business families is immense. In the new millennium, recently he has written 2 books in the area of Business namely ??Globalization and a Shrunken World?? published in 2009 and ??Poverty Of Nations?? published in 2014. He has published many articles in National & International Journal besides presenting paper at various Universities. He coordinate the Colloquium at the Journal of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad, Gujarat in 2016, which contains contributions by seven practicing managers of the rank of chief executives of banks and scholars.
